LA Lakers @ Portland Trail Blazers (2:10pm)
Just missed on the PR line today with Luka, but happy to take him as my best bet again when the Lakers head to Portland.
Luka has hit double figure rebounds in all four games this season averaging 11.5 per game, and it’s a good matchup against the Blazers. Portland is the fourth easiest team in the NBA for point guards to rebound against, conceding 19% above average to start the season.
If Ayton is still out then this is definitely a play as Hayes isn’t a big rebounder at centre, but even with Ayton playing Luka will cover this line.

Detroit Pistons @ Memphis Grizzlies (12:10pm)
Back-end of last season Jalen Duren was dominant after a slow start. Well the big man has elevated his game another giant leap to start this season.
Duren averages 17.8 points per game this season, but it’s his points per 36 minute numbers which are far more impressive going at 27.1 points per 36 – this is due to a few games with foul trouble, and an ejection against the Rockets where he scored 6 points in just 12 minutes.
Memphis’ issues continue to spiral out of control on and off the court, and with Jock Landale the starting centre we should see Duren capitalise on the offensive end.
Value Bet
Miami Heat @ LA Clippers (2:40pm)
Most Improved? 6th Man? Maybe both. Jaime Jaquez Jr has gone from a heap of DNPCDs last season, to posting big numbers coming off the bench for the Heat this season.
Jaquez is averaging 18.7 points per game this season and more importantly is averaging 30 minutes a game for Miami due to the inconsistency of Kel’el Ware.
Hitting 15+ points in four of his last five games including 31 points in Miami’s loss to the Lakers, this appears to be a low line especially considering Norman Powell is still questionable. Even if Powell plays, Jaquez should cover his line and hit the 15+ value.
