Could the Atlanta Hawks upstage the Grizzlies on the road, with Trae Young set for a big assist game.
Best Bet
Atlanta Hawks @ Memphis Grizzlies (12:10pm)
Averaging 11.6 assists from his last 12 games, Young has hit 12+ in seven of those – all this despite the opposition from those 12 games predominantly teams that have been great at restricting point guards from producing assists over the last month.
Of the teams that concede assists at a positive percentage above average Young has gone big – 17 against Indiana, 12 against the Spurs, 19 against New York and then 14 and 8 against the Heat with the latter being the only miss.
The Grizzlies are the third easiest team over the last month for point guards to generate assists against at 19% above average, so we should see a big game from Trae.
SGM – Hawks +8.5 / JJJ 20+ Points / Young Over 10.5 Assists = $3.60
Next Best
Detroit Pistons @ Utah Jazz (1:10pm)
Is on an absolute heater coming off the bench for the Pistons, but with Tobias Harris missing in Detroit’s clash with the Jazz, we should see Beasley start – and if he still comes off the bench, his minutes will be well up.
Beasley is averaging 17.9 points across his last 19 games hitting this line in 13 of those, but there’s a huge opportunity here with starters minutes up for grabs.
Last time Cade missed, Beasley caught fire against the 76ers going for 38 points, while when Harris missed against the Heat back in December he had 28 points in 41 minutes. He has also popped off without Tim Hardaway Jr where he averages 23.3 points across four games, scoring 20+ each occasion.
All this combined with the fact that Utah is the easiest team for shooting guards to score against over the last month at 14% above average, we could really see a huge Beasley game in this.
SGM – Beasley Over 16.5 Points / Clarkson Under 18.5 Points / Thompson 4+ Rebounds = $3.75
Value Bet
Portland Trail Blazers @ Philadelphia 76ers (11:10am)
I feel like the price for the 76ers has been wrong in just about every game this season, and once again this is the case.
Over the last 10 games the Trail Blazers have been 5-5 ranked 11th in the NBA for net rating, while the 76ers over the same period are 1-9 with the second worst net rating in the competition.
Understand it’ll be difficult off no rest coming off an overtime loss, where they had the Cavs on toast, but they have the best coverage rate in the NBA this season off no rest going at 88%. Hard to see Quentin Grimes going off for another 40 to save Philadelphia in this, so happy to take the underdog price for Portland.
SGM – Trail Blazers +3.5 / Avdija Over 27.5 PRA / Grimes 4+ Rebounds = $4.20
