Ja Morant - NBA Tips

Ja Morant has had some big games leading into this clash with the Suns, but is that hot streak about to come to an end?

Best Bet

Utah Jazz @ Boston Celtics (10:40am)

Walker Kessler
Under 27.5 PR

A bit of an overreaction in the market off the back of Kessler destroying Toronto’s Orlando Robinson.

There are two key factors in this – firstly, Kessler is questionable but so is the entire Utah starting line-up, so if he plays I also expect Collins, Markkanen and Sexton to join him.

Secondly, they are playing the Celtics. Boston is the third most difficult team for centres to score and rebound against over the last month, 16% below average for points and 8% below average for rebounds.

Think big Walker will come back down to earth in this.

SGM – Kessler Under 27.5 PR / Collier Under 12.5 Points / Celtics 11+ = $3.50

Next Best

Phoenix Suns @ Memphis Grizzlies (11:10am)

Ja Morant
Under 27.5 Points

I haven’t seen Ja’s points line this high this season, and I understand there’s no Jaren Jackson but Bane will still be playing for the Grizzlies.

The movement in the market has been driven by two big performances with big minutes – 31 points in 35 minutes against Dallas, and 32 points in 37 minutes against New Orleans. Both those sides are fairly ordinary at the minute, and although Phoenix aren’t great they’ve shown glimpses of improvement of late.

Morant did score 29 points last time against the Suns, but that went to OT so he played 37 minutes. I’m mindful Jenkins has tried to play Morant around 32 minutes a game this season and they enter this off no rest, so I can’t see him playing another game of 35+ minutes here.

SGM – Morant Under 27.5 Points / Beal 15+ Points / Edey 10+ Rebounds = $4.33

Value Bet

Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs (11:40am)

Max Christie
15+ Points

Dallas is even more decimated than imaginable – they lost Brandon Williams on Monday who had some big games recently, and both Dwight Powell and Caleb Martin are questionable. There’s a chance they’ve only got six fit bodies against the Spurs.

Max Christie is one of them, and the former Laker could play close to 48 minutes in this. He hasn’t been great recently, but he at least shot it at a reasonable clip against the Suns finishing with 12 points.

Has shown he’s capable of scoring towards the end of his Lakers tenor and in the early days as a Maverick, so I’m liking the price for Christie to score 15 in this.

SGM – Spurs / Christie Over 11.5 Points / Paul 6+ Assists = $3.50
