He was crucial in San Antonio’s victory, with the ability to switch two through five on defence. He is not agile enough to stay in front of SGA, but he has the ability to guard anyone else on the floor, especially when OKC don’t play Hartenstein.

He switched onto Holmgren many times in game 1, allowing Wemby to roam the key and affect OKC’s entire offence. The reigning champions were second guessing driving lanes, and jumping early to shoot floaters, all because of Victor’s presence.

Champagnie won’t be affected by Fox’s game time decision and is the safest of the Spurs to back. He had 9 rebounds in game 1, is averaging 5.9RPG for the playoffs and averaged 5.8RPG across the 82-game season.

It’s not often we get value odds for the now two-time MVP, so I am going to grab them when they are on offer.

He took his time to get going in game 1, whether that was the emotion from the trophy presentation pregame, or rust from their long layoff between series. Either way, SGA did end up with twenty-four points from twenty-three shot attempts. It was a subpar shooting performance from his usual output, just 30%FG, where he averaged 55%FG for the entire season.

OKC must win game 2 at home, and to do that SGA has to come out firing. His usage dropped to 28.2 and I expect him to be more aggressive with ball in hand. Carter Bryant did an amazing job on Shai in game 1, I now expect the MVP to respond.
