Brandon Miller - NBA Tips

With LaMelo still out injured, a rookie for the Hornets has exploded in his absence.

Best Bet

Toronto Raptors @ Charlotte Hornets (11:10am)

Brandon Miller
Over 21.5 Points

Crazy low line all things considered for Brandon Miller, after he saluted as our value bet for 25+ points last start.

Miller averages 23.5 points per game from his last 11 meetings – this includes a 5-point outing against the Rockets where he played just 19 minutes which LaMelo played in, and a 12-point effort against the Jazz.

The rookie enters this clash with the Raptors off the back of consecutive 30+ point games, and despite that his points line has actually come down. The shot volume and usage is through the roof for Miller at the moment, and with LaMelo still sidelined I see no reason why he won’t cover this line once again with 25+ at $2.40 and 30+ at $5.20 both outstanding value.

SGM – Miller Over 21.5 Points / Barrett 20+ Points / Quickley 6+ Assists = $4.33

Next Best

Golden State Warriors @ Philadelphia 76ers (11:40am)

Jonathan Kuminga
Over 19.5 Points

Not a rookie, but a player that has certainly emerged over the last month and I can say the same thing about Jonathan Kuminga as I did Miller, with a really low line for the Forward.

He’s making a strong case to be the Warriors second offensive option, averaging 24.9 points per game from Golden State’s last ten recording 20+ points in nine of those games.

He’ll get a nice look against this Philly team that are missing the rim protection that Embiid offers them, with Power Forwards scoring 8% above average over the last month. Kuminga has scored 25+ in six of his last nine, don’t be surprised if that happens again.

SGM – Warriors / Kuminga 20+ Points / Harris 20+ Points = $4.33

Value Bet

Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics (11:40am)

Onyeka Okongwu
15+ Points

The numbers don’t lie – Onyeka Okongwu will be starting for the Hawks in Capela’s absence and he’s sneaky good when he does so.

Hawks fans have been crying out for 18 months now to unleash this man, but even with a coaching change Clint Capela remains a Hawk and a starter at that. But in the three games Okongwu has played without Capela this season, he’s averaging 17.7 points scoring 15+ in all three games and easily covering the line set for him at 10.5 when he faces the Celtics.

Okongwu has averaged 14 points per 36 minutes across the entire season averaging just 25 minutes per game, but with the big man’s minutes at 34 per game without Capela and getting the opportunity to play more with Trae, he should cover and be a show to score 15+ points once again.

SGM – Hawks +11.5 / Okongwu Over 10.5 Points / Johnson 15+ Points = $5.75
