Golden State will provide the Rockets the opportunity to play smaller which gives Amen Thompson plenty of opportunities to play big minutes in this NBA Cup Quarter Final.
The Rockets have lost to Golden State twice this season, both times without Curry, so they are a bit of a bogey team for them. It’s mainly impacting Houston’s starters though, who have a net rating of -33.6 and a plus/minus of -22 against the Warriors across both games.
Thompson averages 9.5 rebounds against the Warriors across two games this season hitting 8+ on both occasions including last start where he played just 22 minutes. I expect Udoka to make some adjustments after their most recent loss where Kuminga posted a career-high 33 points, and if Thompson plays 30+ minutes he’ll hit the 8+ rebounds mark for the fifth time in seven games.
