Eight games on Sunday, including with Celtics and Knicks where the visitors look a great play.
Best Bet
Celtics @ Knicks (10:30am)
Still not sold on the Knicks this season despite their 4-4 record, and although this is played at Madison Square Garden, expect the Celtics to cover the line.
Three of New York’s four wins came early in the season against Detroit, Orlando and Charlotte who currently fill the bottom three spots in the Eastern Conference, with their fourth coming on Saturday against the 76ers who were missing both Joel Embiid and James Harden, which makes a 2-point victory somewhat underwhelming.
When up against the better teams in the East, the Knicks have had three double-digit losses – to the Bucks by 11, and the Cavs and Hawks by 13-points. It’s hard to see the Celtics dropping this and they should cover -3.5 points with 11+ at $3.35 a good value play.
Next Best
Thunder @ Bucks (11:00am)
Giddey still does not look 100% right after his ankle sprain, especially his rebounding where he’s just managed a total of two in the last two games since returning.
It certainly will not get any easier against the Milwaukee Bucks for the Aussie, who are the best team in the NBA at defending point guards this season. The Bucks concede the sixth least points to point guards this season at 9% below average, and are the best team in the NBA in restricting assists to point guards at 26% below average.
With SGA on another level at the moment, he’ll continue to dominate the ball resulting in another quiet game from Giddey.
Value Bet
Kings @ Magic (8:00am)
The 2-7 record for the Magic doesn’t instil much hope, but there’s something there and I’m happy to take them on their home floor.
They’re 0-6 on the road this season and 2-1 at home but the schedule has been tricky with Golden State, Dallas, Cleveland, Boston and Atlanta some of the teams they’ve already faced.
Sacramento’s schedule has been far easier, also managing just the two wins, and with De’Aaron Fox still questionable the Magic look a nice bet as underdogs.
