NBA Tips – Sunday, January 12 NBA Picks & Multi

Anfernee Simons will have to do it all, if Portland are any chance against a Miami Heat squad desperate to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Best Bet

Miami Heat @ Portland Trail Blazers (02:00pm)

Anfernee Simons
Over 4.5 Assists

Portland are exceeding expectation at the moment and are currently 8-8 in home games. Simons has really stepped up, averaging 22 points and 6.1 dimes for the month. With Deandre Ayton questionable for this game, we could see the bulk of the usage in Anfernee’s hands.

Simons has cleared this line in 7 out of his last 10 games and two of the misses were 4 assists. He is averaging 8.8 potential assists and hopefully his Portland team mates can make a few shots on their preferred home floor. If Donovan Clingan can see 20+ minutes in Ayton’s absence, it would only increase our chances, with the rook a much better alley-oop option than Ayton.

SGM – Simons Over 4.5 Assists/ Avdija 15+ Points/ Jaquez Jnr. 4+ Assists = $4.50

Next Best

Houston Rockets @ Atlanta Hawks (07:10am)

Dyson Daniels
Under 5.5 Rebounds

It feels a bit awkward suggesting to go against the Aussie but hear me out. What a break out season for the Bendigo boy the team have named “the great barrier thief”.

Dys has been incredible for Atlanta this season and the trade from the Pelicans seems to have flicked a switch. Here, they face the Houston Rockets who currently lead the league in rebounds. A recent broken hand to Jabari Smith has opened up starter minutes for Amen Thompson, who has shown strong rebound numbers. Between him and centre, Alperen Sengun, I don’t see a lot of spare rebounds for the Atlanta shooting guard. Daniels has cleared this line just 3 times in his last 10 games.

SGM – Daniels under 5.5 Rebounds/ Sengun 10+ Rebounds/ Whitmore 10+ Points = $3.50

Value Bet

Toronto Raptors @ Detroit Pistons (11:10am)

Ausar Thompson
6+ Rebounds

Ausar has become the brother of Amen Thompson of late, with Amen starting to make waves over in Houston. But how quickly we forget, that Ausar had some shining moments last season and was a rebounding stud.

He has returned for one game since missing a few through illness. He only managed 17 minutes but he got the start, and hopefully his fitness is better for the playing time. Hardaway Jnr is questionable and that only strengthens our position.

He cleared this mark 3 out of his last 5 before the illness, with his last game of 26 minutes, grabbing 10 boards.

SGM – Thompson 6+ Rebounds/ Quickly 6+ Assists/ Harris 15+ Points = $7.00
