Pascal Siakam enters this clash with the Hawks being named an Eastern All Star, and will look to continue his hot form.
Best Bet
Washington Wizards @ Minnesota Timberwolves (12:10pm)
Putting together another great season off the bench for the Timberwolves, with Naz Reid now getting his look at Power Forward in the starting line-up without Randle.
If Reid can avoid foul trouble we should be able to lock 32 minutes in for last year’s 6th Man of the Year. He’s played 27+ minutes in 13 games this season, averaging 18.2 points and covering 16.5 points in seven of those games in 30 minutes per game.
This number will jump, while the match-up against the Wizards is incredible for bigs so we could see Reid go for 25+ paying $6 – he did have 29 on Memphis less than two weeks back.
SGM – Reid Over 16.5 Points / Gobert 10+ Points / Edwards 6+ Assists = $4.33
Next Best
Atlanta Hawks @ Indiana Pacers (9:10am)
Recency theory perfect for Pascal Siakam being selected an All Star – he hasn’t had a great season in all honesty, but his recent form has been red-hot.
Spicy P averages 24.1 points per game from his last nine, covering this line in six of them, entering this game against the Hawks after pouring 37 on the Pistons.
The Hawks aren’t much of a defensive outfit and with Jalen Johnson out for the season and Dyson Daniels likely to get the job on Haliburton, I think we’ll see Siakam carry the offensive load.
SGM – Siakam Over 21.5 Points / Young Under 36.5 PRA / Hunter Under 4.5 Rebounds = $6.50
Value Bet
Orlando Magic @ Utah Jazz (9:10am)
Serious teething issues for the Magic working Banchero and Franz back into their system while Jalen Suggs misses with injury.
Since Banchero returned from injury the Magic are 2-8 – this includes losses to Portland twice, a dysfunctional Miami, and Toronto. As a result, since January 10 when Paolo came back from injury, Orlando has the second worst net rating in the NBA at -14.1 – only Washington is worse who are a sorry excuse of an NBA team.
Utah isn’t much better, but they’ve played their bench for most of this period. They’re now back to full strength with Markkanen, Kessler and Collins in the starting line-up, and from their last seven games played five on the road – the two home games weren’t easy against the Bucks and Timberwolves. Think we’ll see an improved effort at home.
SGM – Jazz +5.5 / Markkanen 10+ Points / Banchero Over 4.5 Assists = $3.75
