After a disappointing showing against the Mavericks, we should see Portland bounce back when they head to Houston.
Best Bet
Jazz @ Bucks (12:10pm)
Incredibly short line for the Bucks at home when they face the Jazz. Giannis may be in doubt, but they’ve won three of their four games without the Greek Freak this season and shouldn’t have any issues in this.
Milwaukee’s average win differential at home this season is 9 points, with a 13-3 record on their home floor covering the spread in 68.8% of games at Fiserv Forum.
Utah has lost six of their last seven games on the road, and this is one of the toughest road trips in the NBA.
Next Best
Pelicans @ Suns (1:10pm)
It’s a big points line for Devin Booker considering the hamstring tightness and his decline in numbers with Chris Paul returning to the mix.
In Booker’s last nine games with CP3 he’s only averaging 20.7 points per game, covering 28.5 points the once. His percentages also take a major hit, only shooting the ball at 40% from the field in those last nine with Paul, compared to averaging 29.3 points at 49% from the field in 14 games without CP3 this season.
In the two games Booker has played against the Pelicans this season he’s struggled, averaging just 15 points while shooting the ball at 35.5% from the field. Hard to see Booker covering in his recent form.
Value Bet
Trail Blazers @ Rockets (12:10pm)
Disappointing performance against the Mavericks on Saturday, but the blowout meant that Chauncy Billups could rest his stars heading into Houston the next day, with none of his starters playing more than 25 minutes.
The Rockets have been better at home, but they really should have beaten a Miami team without Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry last start, lacking polish and maturity.
Damian Lillard is the key for Portland, and with Houston the easiest team in the NBA for point guards to score against over the last month at 21% above average while also conceding triples to the point at 40% above average, we could see Dame score 40+ in this resulting in a big win for the Trail Blazers.
