What adjustments will the Timberwolves make ahead of Game 2 in an attempt to even the ledger this Western Conference Finals?

Dallas Mavericks @ Minnesota Timberwolves (10:35am)

Best Bet

Mike Conley
Under 20.5 PRA

There wasn’t a great match-up for Josh Giddey against the Mavericks last series which saw him pushed down the end of the bench, and although Mike Conley won’t receive that treatment I do expect his minutes to take a hit in Game 2.

The Vet was so good in the series against Denver but also had the luxury of defending KCP – it’s much more difficult though against the Mavericks, with Kyrie realistically his best match-up size wise, but Minnesota is also keen to have Edwards guard Irving.

Don’t be surprised to see the Timberwolves push Edwards into the point and McDaniels as the shooting guard, going big in the front court with either Anderson or Reid playing along side Towns and Gobert.

Conley is yet to cover the PRA of 20.5 in five attempts against Dallas this season including Game 1 – it’s a bad match-up for the Vet, watch Finch make adjustments.

Value Bet

Naz Reid
12+ Points

I expect Minnesota to respond in Game 2 with a win which puts Naz Reid in play, who I believe will play even more minutes than his 24 in Game 1.

Reid has scored 12+ points in 50% of Minnesota’s wins this post-season, and only once in a loss which happened to be Game 1 against Dallas where he scored 15 points.

This is a nice match-up for Reid with his ability to stretch the floor in a big-five Minnesota line-up, and if he can stay out of foul trouble I think he’ll cover his line of 10.5 while scoring at least 12 points at a nice price.

SGM – Reid 10+ Points / Conley Under 6.5 Assists / Washington 6+ Rebounds = $4.33
