Steph Curry will miss Golden State’s match-up with the Clippers, and the Warriors cannot afford to be without their superstar winning just three of their last 14 games.
Best Bet
Golden State Warriors @ LA Clippers (2:10pm)
It’s gone under the radar how bad Golden State is travelling at the moment. The Warriors have won just three of their last 14 games, and although they’ve had a tough schedule their quality of play has been really poor.
The last two weeks has reached new lows – since December 12, Golden State has the worst net rating in the NBA at -11.2 with even the three winless teams over this stretch in New Orleans, Charlotte and Toronto going better in this area.
To make matters worse, Steph Curry will not play against the Clippers in LA – he was the sole reason they stayed close on Christmas Day with 38 points. With Steph on the floor this season the Warriors have a net rating of 6, but without Steph they’re at -3.
With the Clippers top-ten in net rating over the same period winning three of their last dour including a big win over a form-team in Memphis, this really should be regulation for Ty Lue’s men.
SGM – Clippers -4.5 / Wiggins 15+ Points / Hield 2+ 3PM = $4.50
Next Best
Indiana Pacers @ Boston Celtics (11:40am)
Match-up surprisingly well with Boston and although they enter off no rest, the Pacers seemed to have turned a corner of late.
Indiana has covered the spread in six of the last seven games against the Celtics, which includes an upset win earlier this season.
They’re a bit out of sorts at the moment Boston – it’s difficult to stay up for so long, but they’ve lost three of their last four games at home, while they’ve covered in just one of their last six games at TD Garden.
With both Holiday and Porzingis under a question mark, I could see Indiana causing an upset here or at least making a game of it.
SGM – Pacers +11.5 / Tatum 10+ Rebounds / Siakam 6+ Rebounds = $3.30
Value Bet
Memphis Grizzlies @ New Orleans Pelicans (12:10pm)
Think we’ll see the big man move into outright favourite for Rookie of the Year after Memphis’ clash with New Orleans going head-to-head with fellow rookie Yves Missi.
The Pelicans are the easiest team for centres to rebound against over the last month at 15% above average, with Edey entering this match coming off a career-game finishing with 21 points and 16 rebounds against the Raptors.
With both Santi Aldama and Jay Huff out, we could even see a minutes bump for Edey and as he comes off 14 and 16 rebound games from his last two starts, a double double here looks like good value.
SGM – Wells 10+ Points / Edey 10+ Rebounds / Bane 4+ Assists = $4.50
