A 14-game slate of NBA this Saturday as we head closer to Christmas Day, and I’m expecting some huge performances from three of the NBA’s best point guards.
Mavericks @ Rockets (12:10pm)
Off the back of two tougher games offensively for Luka Doncic with 25 and 19 against the Timberwolves, he’ll be determined to provide a strong outing against the Rockets.
Houston is the easiest team in the NBA for point guards to score against over the last month at 20% above average, and with Luka averaging 32.2 points per game we actually see a low line per his standards.
Scoring 30+ in eight of his last 11 games, expect the Slovenian to produce a monster against this unorganised Rockets defence.
Trail Blazers @ Nuggets (1:10pm)
Houston may be the easiest team for point guards to score against over the last month, but the Nuggets are not far behind which gives Damian Lillard a great look when they head to Denver.
With point guards scoring 19% above average against the Nuggets over the last month, after a quiet game against the Thunder we should see Lillard bounce back to cover the line of 27.5 – something he’s managed in five of his last eight games.
Scoring 31 and 40 in his two outings against Denver this season, expect another 30+ effort from Dame.
Bucks @ Nets (11:30am)
The Bucks are one of the best teams in the NBA at defending the point, but it’s still a very low line for Kyrie of 24.5 points.
From his last eight games Kyrie is averaging 29 points per game, covering 24.5 in six of those games while recording 30+ in four of them.
From his last four games against Milwaukee, Irving has averaged 32 points while covering 24.5 points in all four games. He shouldn’t have trouble covering once again, and keen to take the 29+ points paying $2.44.
