Darius Garland is thriving under new coach Kenny Atkinson – can he keep the Cavs’ undefeated start to the season rolling?

Best Bet

Charlotte Hornets @ Cleveland Cavaliers (10:10am)

Darius Garland
Over 21.5 Points

Kenny Atkinson has surely brought out the best of Darius Garland. The Cavs Point Guard is averaging 24.4 points from his last seven games, covering 21.5 points in four of those games.

Now it’s important to state – Donovan Mitchell is not playing this game against the Hornets, so this usage will take a giant leap. Garland is averaging 28.7 points per 36 minutes without Mitchell on the floor this season.

Garland had a poor season last year with form and injuries, and in the 20 games Mitchell missed he only averaged 20.5 points, but the season before Garland averaged 25.6 per game without Mitchell.

Against the Hornets that concede points to point guards 9% above average over the last month, we should be seeing Garland clear this line with ease without Donny.

SGM – Garland Over 21.5 Points / Ball 25+ Points / LeVert 4+ Assists = $3.75

Next Best

Atlanta Hawks @ Portland Trail Blazers (10:10am)

Trae Young
Over 10.5 Assists

I’m getting slightly concerned by his form this season and the fact the Hawks could be better without him, but I still need to play this assists line for Trae Young.

Averaging 11.3 this season, Trae has covered 10.5 in six of his last nine games. He only managed 9 last game but it was a blowout against the Wizards where he only played 33 minutes.

Atlanta’s opponent is Portland, who are conceding assists to point guard 11% above average over the last month, with Young covering 10.5 assists in his last six games against the Blazers.

SGM – Sharpe 15+ Points / Johnson Over 8.5 Rebounds / Young Over 10.5 Assists = $4.20

Value Bet

Detroit Pistons @ Washington Wizards (10:10am)

Jalen Duren
14+ Rebounds

Foul trouble hurt Duren last start playing just 24 minutes against the Raptors where he still managed 8 rebounds.

Although averaging an underwhelming 9.6 rebounds considering the expectation surrounding him this season, Duren’s per 36 minute rebound numbers are still pushing 14 at 13.8 per 36.

Most importantly for this play, Detroit play Washington – the Wizards are far away the easiest team for centres to rebound against this season at 25% above average. Capela had 13 in just 22 minutes last game, Sengun had 17 three games back while even Bitadze had 12 in 21 minutes a few games ago. Jalen Duren bounce-back game on the cards.

SGM – Cunningham Under 24.5 Points / Duren 10+ Points / Duren Over 10.5 Rebounds = $4.00
