CJ McCollum - NBA Tips

The Pelicans have endured a horror season this year, and with Brandon Ingram out we should see CJ McCollum lead this New Orleans offense.

Best Bet

Boston Celtics @ Washington Wizards (10:10am)

Kristaps Porzingis
Over 18.5 Points

Maybe a slight revenge narrative here for Porzingis against the Wizards, but more so the narrative of Washington being horrible at defending centres this season.

The Wizards are the second easiest team for centres to score against over the last month, conceding points at 24% above average.

Porzingis’ transition back to basketball this season has been seamless. The big Latvian averages 20.3 points per game from six games back, covering 18.5 points in five of them with his only miss being his first game back where he scored 16 points in 22 minutes against the Clippers.

Although this will be a blowout, we’ve seen Kristaps cover this line in just 25-28 minutes of play this season so he could do a lot of his damage early.

SGM – Porzingis Over 18.5 Points / Sarr 10+ Points / Tatum 8+ Rebounds = $4.20

Next Best

Portland Trail Blazers @ Phoenix Suns (12:10pm)

Donovan Clingan
Over 15.5 PR

Could cover this in rebounds alone. Clingan’s numbers without Ayton and Williams this season are ridiculous, averaging 12.7 rebounds from just 24 minutes per game.

Clingan has done it against quality as well as the sole centre at Portland – he had 17 and 12 against Minnesota (plus 8 blocks), didn’t score against Houston but still managed 19 rebounds, and then in his first game back he had 6 and 7 in just 15 minutes of play.

Think he’ll see a minutes increase in his second game back, and if Clingan plays 20+ minutes he covers this line with ease.

SGM – Booker 20+ Points / Durant Over 23.5 Points / Clingan Over 15.5 PR = $4.20

Value Bet

New Orleans Pelicans @ Indiana Pacers (9:10am)

CJ McCollum
25+ Points

The beneficiary of this New Orleans team missing Brandon Ingram. CJ McCollum enters this contest with Indiana red-hot after scoring 36 against the Kings, and has played well without Ingram for some time now.

In his last 19 games without BI dating back to March in last season, McCollum averages 26.1 points per game covering his line of 21.5 points in 15 of those while posting 25+ in 11 of them.

McCollum has played in six games this season with Dejounte and without both BI and Zion, where he’s averaged 24.3 points per game. With the Pacers conceding points to shooting guards 10% above average over the last month, we could see CJ produce another big game.

SGM – McCollum 20+ Points / Missi 10+ Points / Turner 8+ Rebounds = $4.00
