This line doesn’t make a whole heap of sense to me. Payton Pritchard is vital to Boston’s post-season run, so although he’ll be their best player on the court against the Hornets, there’s also no way they will play him a whole heap.

Being locked as the second seed this is a genuine dead rubber against the Hornets, who also have absolutely nothing to play for – which has pretty much been the case since the third week of the season.

Resting their six main players, Boston still has 11 more than capable players suiting up which suggests I don’t think we’ll see much of Pritchard, Hauser and Kornet.

A win for the Mavericks would be nice – it still gives them a chance of jumping into a home play-in game against the Kings, in the scenario that Sacramento loses.

As for Memphis, they are now locked in at the eighth, and coming off a tough couple of games played back-to-back, there’s no way they roll out any of their main players – expect Morant, Bane, JJJ, Aldama, Pippen, Kennard and Edey to sit this out.

Although AD won’t play for Dallas, they’ve got more than enough to beat Memphis’ third unit – and they can’t go easy in case the Kings do lose.

It’s only a small thing, but Portland has more to lose than the Lakers in this.

Currently tied with Phoenix in the draft lottery, if they were to win they’d drop down to 10^th which means 1.5% further away from the top selections.

Phoenix on the other hand don’t own their pick, so they don’t have a similar incentive in this scenario to the Trail Blazers. The Lakers bench players will be putting up their hands for playoff minutes, so despite the price I think they have more to play for in this.
