It’s the final day of the NBA season featuring all 30 teams – plenty of dead rubbers, but a handful of games that will define the playoff picture.

Best Bet
Utah Jazz @ LA Lakers (10:40am)
It feels like the Jazz packed up their season back in December and for many NBA followers we’re thankful we only have to witness one more game from Utah.
The one positive is, they do put up points and feature in a number of high scoring games. Eight of their last 11 games have gone over the total points, with the average total points during this stretch at 253.5 per game.
From those 11 games, only one has gone under the total points and it was close with 235 points against the Cavs. This will be a mammoth total.
Next Best
Denver Nuggets @ San Antonio Spurs (10:40am)
The two highest scoring teams in the NBA over the last 15 games, and although it looks like there’s incentive for the Nuggets to win this and finish third in the West, there are underlying reasons why the Spurs have more at play here – and as a result I think a shootout occurs.
San Antonio would be much more comfortable facing the Lakers in the second-round of the playoffs than the Nuggets, while the Timberwolves have caused Denver a heap of issues over the last two years – I think the Nuggets would prefer to finish fourth, even if it means facing the Thunder in the second round.
This takes away all forms of competitiveness in this contest – so expect plenty of points from the two highest scoring teams of the last 15 games.
Value Bet
New Orleans Pelicans @ Minnesota Timberwolves (10:40am)
This is the ultimate dead rubber – the result means absolutely nothing to both Minnesota and New Orleans, and I’m absolutely gobsmacked we’re getting this price for the Pelicans.
New Orleans do not own their first-rounder this upcoming draft – there’s zero reason to lose this game. As for Minnesota, they are resting nearly everyone that will feature in their playoff rotation – Donte DiVincenzo the only exception but will play very little as he tries to hit playing all 82 games this season.
The Pelicans are riding their rookies – Jeremiah Fears is averaging 31 points per game from his last four, while Derik Queen has averaged 21, 11.5 and 5.5 from his last two games with the extra opportunity. Throw in Hawkins off the bench who is finally getting a crack, I think New Orleans will do a number on Minnesota – and it won’t be close.
