All 30 teams will play on the last day of the NBA regular season, and although majority will be dead rubbers there’s a few games that matter.
Best Bet
Celtics @ Grizzlies (9:00am)
Celtics -2.5 ($1.90)
The 3-seed in the East is definitely the most sought after in the NBA right now, and Boston will make sure they secure it.
The Grizzlies will be resting all five starters for this after playing on Sunday, but Boston will be full strength. Locking away the 3-seed will result in a series against Chicago who will likely be the worst team in the NBA Playoffs, let alone the East – but if they lose this and the 76ers win, they’ll have to take on Toronto.
With Canada’s vaccination rules and reports surrounding Jaylen Brown and Al Horford not fully vaccinated, a series against the Raptors playing three games in Canada could be disastrous for Boston off the back of a great season.
They will make sure of it though covering line of 2.5 against Memphis’ bench, while 11+ at $4.20 is outstanding value.
Next Best
Spurs @ Mavericks (11:30am)
Mavericks -9.5 ($1.90)
Another team where the result matters, with Dallas fighting for the 3-seed in the West which could result in them avoiding Phoenix until the Conference Final.
If the Mavericks win and Warriors lose, Dallas will move into the 3-seed and likely face the Denver Nuggets in the first-round of the playoffs. Although there’s not much between Denver and Utah, it’s the playoff path that Dallas will have in mind.
San Antonio cannot move from 10th position, and entering this match off no-rest Coach Pop will not be playing anyone that is a chance to play a role in the play-in series.
VALUE BET
Jazz @ Trail Blazers (11:30am)
Jazz 31+ ($4.33)
It was only two days ago when we discussed how horrible Portland is, tipping the Mavericks by 31+ points paying $5.05 – they ended up winning by 50. Well, here is Utah’s opportunity.
A win for the Jazz will lock them into the 5th seed so we should expect to see all their starters suit up for this one.
Who knows what players Portland will roll out, but in their last nine games against teams with a record above .500 they’ve lost by 30+ points in six of them. The Jazz beat the Trail Blazers by 38 points a month back, this time it could be more.
