Ja Morant - NBA Tips

Betseeker’s expert tipsters have you covered for the best NBA tips and predictions for every game of the NBA season.

Memphis and Phoenix are both favoured to take care of business at home and move within one win of advancing to the second round. Can they do it?

Best Bet

Timberwolves @ Grizzlies (9:30am)

Memphis -5.5 ($1.84)

This series is a difficult one to get a read on but this line presents an opportunity too good to pass up.

A monumental collapse in Game 3 by Minnesota handed the Grizzlies a 2-1 series lead but the Wolves responded on Sunday to tie the series up once more.

Minnesota played really well in Game 4 but I’m not sure they can play any better. They shot 50 per cent from deep (18/36) and had 40 free throw attempts.

I’d be astonished if they got anywhere those numbers when this series returns to Memphis, especially when the microscope is on the officiating after Taylor Jenkins’ comments.

Memphis is a superb play at the number coming off a loss this season (66.7%) and I’d be very surprised if they fail to fire back on their home floor.

Take the -5.5 while you can. I suspect it may not last.

Value Bet

Pelicans @ Suns (12:00pm)

Deandre Ayton 22+ Points / Phoenix To Win ($2.80)

If you’d told me prior to the playoffs that the Suns would find themselves in a tense first round arm wrestle with the New Orleans Pelicans, I would’ve been forced to quote the GOAT.

And yet, here we are.

A Pelicans win here would give them a shot at advancing on their home court and while there is plenty to admire about their talent and tenacity, I can’t bet against this Phoenix team – with or without Devin Booker – in this spot.

At home, the Suns should just find a way but there is little to no value for mine in either the handicap or total. Enter Deandre Ayton.

The Bahamian big man has certainly made his presence felt since Booker’s injury, following up his 28-point showcase in Game 3 with 23 in Game 4. His average shot attempts have increased from 10.5 to 17 in since the series shifted to New Orleans.

The Pelicans struggle to defend the paint (ranked last amongst playoff teams) and Ayton should continue to cash in as the Suns look to move a game away from progressing.
