NBA Playoff Tips – Sunday, April 17 NBA Picks & Multi

Pascal Siakam - NBA Betting Tips

Betseeker’s expert NBA tipsters have you covered for the best tips and predictions for every game of the NBA season.

The Playoffs are here! We’ve got four games on Sunday and despite being some short-priced favourites the Raptors are a big chance of causing a Game 1 upset.

Best Bet

Raptors @ 76ers (8:00am)

Pascal Siakam Over 27.5 PA ($1.78)

The Raptors are a genuine chance of upsetting the 76ers as the 5-seed, and it’s off the back of Pascal Siakam.

Averaging 30.3 points and 8.3 assists against the 76ers this season, Siakam will need to be the primary offensive focus for Toronto with Fred VanVleet genuinely struggling to play through his knee issues – the point guard averages 15 points a game from his last 8 games at 33% from the field.

Spicy P on the other hand enters the playoffs in outstanding form, averaging 27 points and 5.6 assist from his last 20 games – looking at his past nine games heading into the post-season those averages jump to 28 points and 6.7 assists per game. He’s covered the PA of 27.5 in 15 of his last 20 games, he’ll have no problems doing so again.

Timberwolves @ Grizzlies (5:30am)

D’Angelo Russell Over 18.5 Points ($1.82)

We’ve taken the unders a number of times on D’Angelo Russell this season, but we’re going on the overs this time around.

DLo averages 23 points per game from his last four finding some touch leading into the post-season, including 29 points against Clippers in the play-in game, but the key reason for the bet is what he’s done to the Grizzlies this season.

From four games this season, DLo averages 31 points per game with Memphis being the team he averages the most points against this season. Of those four games his lowest points total is 28, with a high of 37 in their most recent encounter on February 24.

20+ points for DLo is $2, with 25+ points at $3.75 – a score he’s covered in all four games against the Grizzlies this season. Although 30+ points at $12 is unlikely in a post-season game, he has covered that twice against Memphis this season and is also worth a small play.

Value Bet

Nuggets @ Warriors (10:30am)

Nikola Jokic Triple Double ($3.40)

If Steph Curry returns there’s every possibility that the Golden State Warriors will go small with the form Jordan Poole is in, pushing Wiggins to the 4 and Draymond to the 5 – and because of this we’re taking Nikola Jokic to record a triple double paying $3.40.

As good of a defender as Draymond Green is, there’s no way he can defend the Joker one-on-one due to the sheer height advantage of Jokic and as a result we can expect multiple Warriors running at the Serbian every time he touches the ball down low.

Jokic averages 8.8 assists per game against the Warriors this season including a 32/15/13 triple double on March 7, followed by a 23/12/9 near triple double three days later.

One of the beneficiaries of Jokic being double teamed is Monte Morris – he generally feeds Jokic the ball with his opponent being the player doubling Jokic, and as a result he averages 16.7 points per game against the Warriors this season. Expect a big Jokic assist game.
