Golf Tips – Steyn City Championship 2022

Dean Burmester

The DP World Tour remains in South Africa this week for the Steyn City Championship, a new tournament consisting of much the same field as last week.

Best Bet

Dean Burmester ($17)

There is not a lot of tournament history to go off at The Club in Steyn City but the limited history suggests this will be a scoring-fest where distance off the tee will be a major advantage.

South African Dean Burmester ticks a lot of boxes. He ranks 2nd on the DP World Tour in Driving Distance while he sits fifth in Birdie or Better.

A top 20 last week suggests he is playing well enough to compete here.

Mid-Tier Bet

Laurie Canter ($34)

Big hitting Englishman who is long deserving of a maiden DP World Tour win.

Canter leads the Tour in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee while he ranks Top 20 in Birdie or Better. Finished Top 25 last week at Pecanwood, making it back-to-back Top 25 finishes.

His game and the strength of this field is perfect for the Somerset native.

Value Bet

Grant Forrest ($81)

Scot who ranks Top 10 in Driving Distance so that puts Grant Forrest in the picture from the get-go.

Looking for form on Nicklaus courses and he did finish 4th in the Irish Open last year.

There is value to win and in Top 10 markets.

Prop Bet

Top French Player – Antoine Rozner ($6.50)

Quality Frenchman who has won twice in the last two years. His key asset is his form off the tee. He ranks Top 20 in Driving Distance and Strokes Gained: Off The Tee. Finished Top 35 the last two weeks. He should be favourite in this market.
