The regular season of the PGA Tour draws to a close with another fascinating Wyndham Championship that not only contains plenty of talent at the top of the board but plenty of desperation down it.
Best Bet
Warhorse Sungjae Im ticks all the boxes this week and a win at Sedgefield would make it three straight years with a win on the PGA Tour. Im leads the Tour in Bogey Avoidance while he ranks 3rd in Par 4 Scoring, 10th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green and 12th in GIR. Form at The Players and Rocket Mortgage are the best guide and Im finished Top 17 in both in 2021. Finished Top 10 in two of three starts here.
Mid-Tier Bet
Russell Henley has performed well at Sedgefield the last two years with Top 10 finishes and coming off a Top 10 last week at the Rocket Mortgage looks well placed to contend. Henley is a tremendous iron player and that is probably the key skill to have here. He ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Approach, 6th in GIR, 10th in Birdie or Better and 11th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green.
Value Bet
When it comes to form on the correlation courses this season, Taylor Pendrith is the player to watch this week. He finished T-2 last week at the Rocket Mortgage while he has Top 13 finishes in the Players and Barbasol. Ranking 8th in GIR, he looks an excellent chance to win his first PGA Tour tournament.
Longshot Bet
Emerging player who finished T-14 at the US Open this year. Ranks 11th in GIR and 17th in Driving Accuracy. Comes off a Top 25 last week at the Rocket Mortgage.
