The third women’s major of the year takes place at the Sahalee Country Club in Washington State with Nelly Korda and Yuka Saso both chasing their second of the year.
Best Bet
Canadian Brooke Henderson ticks most boxes this week as she chases her third major and second PGA Championship. The claustrophobic cause requires accuracy from the tee, a good iron game, an ability to scramble well and being able to take advantages of the Par 4s as there are 12 out there. Henderson ranks 6th in Scrambling, 7th in Par 4 Scoring, 8th in Birdies and 9th in GIR.
Mid-Tier Bet
It is astonishing to think that Jin Young Ko has not won a major since claiming two in 2019 but she is getting back to her best and looks well suited by the course. She has four Top 12s in her last seven starts. Ko ranks 4th in Proximity, 6th in Strokes Gained: Approach and 8th in Par 4 Scoring.
Value Bet
Accuracy from the tee is so important and Hyo Joo Kim ranks fifth in that stat. She also ranks ninth in Par 4 Scoring, critical on a Par 70 course. A T-12 in the US Open suggests she is ready to roll here.
Longshot Bet
Sung has a nice profile here. She ranks 5th in Strokes Gained: Approach, 6th in GIR and 7th in Proximity. Comes into this off a T-12. Don’t underestimate her.
