Sam Burns returns to defend his title at the Country Club of Jackson after representing the USA at the Presidents Cup last week and he looks very hard to beat given the lack of quality in the field.
Best Bet
If Sam Burns is anywhere near his best he will be winning this. He is short in betting but not short enough. The defending champion has already defended once this year when winning the Valspar for the second straight year. He is one of the best putters on Tour on Bermuda, he won the Charles Schwab and finished second at the St Jude in two of the key correlation tournaments and he ranks Top 10 on Tour in Birdie or Better. Hard to beat.
Mid-Tier Bet
Shaping as a potential breakout star this season, Korn Ferry graduate Taylor Montgomery has the numbers from the KFT last year to threaten. Led that Tour in Birdie or Better, Bogey Avoidance and Par 4 Scoring. He finished 3rd in the Fortinet Championship, a super start to this season.
Value Bet
Another Korn Ferry Tour graduate who profiles superbly. Ranks 2nd in Birdie or Better and Par 4 Scoring while he ranked 5th in GIR and 9th in Bogey Avoidance.
Longshot Bet
The big hitting Luke List is a silly price. He ranks 6th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, 7th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, 12th in Driving Distance and 13th in GIR. Won on Tour last season.
