A quick rundown of Scheffler’s key numbers heading into this week: 1st in Putting Average, 1st in Strokes Gained: Approach, 1st in Ball Striking, 1st in Par 5 Scoring, 2nd in Bogey Avoidance and 3rd in GIR. He finished 7th at the Open last year. Most importantly: he has won nine of his last 16 tournaments, a ridiculous return. The short odds look value.
Mid-Tier Bet
Few players love this tournament more than Jason Day, who has nine Top 7s in the event including six since 2015. He has been in super nick with a T-3 at The American Express and he has now finished Top 23 in seven of his last 10 events. His putting has been superb this year and poa greens have always been his go.

While Viktor Hovland’s swing tinkering remains a ridiculously frustrating concern, he is one of the most talented players on the planet and has to be a bet at this crazy price. He ranks 6th in Putting Average and 13th in Proximity: 175-200 Yards. His Open Championship form is a good guide too. Did finish 2nd at the St Jude last season so can bob up.
Longshot Bet
Quality player who has won four times on the PGA Tour, as recently as last year when he won the 3M Open. He has been in good form with top Top 11 finishes in his last six starts. Ranks 4th in Proximity 175-200 Yards, 6th in GIR, 7th in Ball Striking and 11th in Par 5 Scoring.
