The DP World Tour caravan rolls onto Rome and the Marco Simone course that will host next year’s Ryder Cup with a host of big names in attendance led by Rory McIlroy and US Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick.
The Marco Simone is a course that will suit classy putting and there is no better putter in the field than Tyrell Hatton. Hatton ranks 4th on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Putting and 12th in Putting Average. He was disappointing at the BMW PGA Championship but has three Top 11 finishes in his last six starts. A dedicated Ryder Cup player, he will be primed for a good performance.
Classy Pole who sets up well here with a good driving game and excellent form on the greens. Meronk ranks 4th in the Tour in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee while he also ranks 4th in Strokes Gained: Putting, 4th in Birdies and 5th in Putts Per GIR. Meronk finished 2nd here last year.
Lucas Herbert picked up a win on the PGA Tour this year and with his game can put up another big showing on the DP World Tour. Herbert led the PGA Tour last season in Strokes Gained: Putting while he ranks 15th in Putts Per GIR, He also ranks 15th in Birdies on the DP World Tour. Form is solid with two Top 15 finishes in his last four starts.
This Spaniard has already won twice on the DP World Tour this year and finished eighth here a year back. Profiles nicely leading the DP World Tour in Birdies while he ranked 3rd in Putts/GIR, 3rd in Strokes Gained: Putting and 15th in Scrambling.
