The PGA Tour moves to Houston this week where Texas native Scottie Scheffler is a very short-priced favourite to win his first tournament since donning the green jacket at Augusta.
Best Bet
Back-to-back winners are very rare but happy to bet that Russell Henley can hold his form with the devout Christian unlikely to have partied too hard. He was outstanding in Mayakoba and has won the Houston Open before. He finished 13th at the key correlation event, The Players. Ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Approach, 7th in GIR, 9th in Proximity, 9th in Par 3 Scoring and 11th in Birdie or Better so his iron game should put him right in the mix.
Mid-Tier Bet
Canadian Taylor Pendrith is a tremendous price to perform this week. Ranks Top 12 in Driving Distance, Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, GIR and Par 3 Scoring. The Players is tge best guide and he finished 13th at Sawgrass this season.
Value Bet
Former Masters winner who has not won another tournament on American soil but should have earlier in the year when three-putting the last hole at Napa in an incredible meltdown two months back. Does rank 6th in Strokes Gained: Putting and Putting Average so expecting a big showing this week at triple figure odds.
Longshot Bet
Swede who has turned his form around of late with T-11 and T-8 finishes. He is an excellent putter who ranks 2nd in Putting Average and 9th in Birdie or Better this year.
