Arguably the best tournament of the PGA Tour regular season, we have an almost-major on our hands with the Genesis Invitational featuring the best players on the PGA Tour.
Spieth has not been regularly tipped on these pages but given his outstanding record at Augusta, he has to be featured. He has been playing well this year too, ranking Top 11 in GIR, Bogey Avoidance and Strokes Gained: Around The Green. Four Top 15s here the last decade.
Scott is the second of three former Masters winners we will be on this week and he has also twice won at Riviera. He has been sneaky-good of late with six straight Top 20s. Profiles supremely on this course, ranking 3rd in Proximity, 5th in Ball Striking and 6th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green.
The links between Riviera and Augusta are undeniable and Hideki Matsuyama is another former Masters winner who is well suited this week. Ranks 7th in Strokes Gained: Around The Green this year. Finished Top 16 in the last two Masters. Showing a little something with Top 22 finishes in two of his last three.
Let’s not get too crazy here with Nick Dunlap, having just his second start as a pro. He is huge odds to win and rightly so. He did win The American Express as an amateur though and gets a course that should suit this week. Dunlap ranks 2nd in Par 5 Scoring and 9th in Driving Distance this season so fancy he is nice value for a Top 20.
