The monster Green Eagle course in Germany hosts the European Open and it will be what a player does tee to green that will decide this event that has been won by some very handy players.
Best Bet
We are backing up on Bernd after betting him last week when he finished T-24. The eight-time DP World Tour winner Bernd Wiesberger has not won since 2021 and went to LIV for a brief stint in the rebel league but he profiles as an elite bet this week. Leads the Tour in GIR, Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, Scrambling and Bogey Avoidance while he ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Around The Green and 14th in Driving Accuracy. Excellent play.
Mid-Tier Bet
Englishman Laurie Canter has rediscovered his best and should contend here. He ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, 4th in Bogey Avoidance, 12th in Scrambling and 13th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green. Form has been very good with a T-7 in Belgium last week an excellent return after nearly two months off.
Value Bet
There is no questioning Ferguson’s form with 13 Top 25s in his last 19 starts. Ranks 4th in Driving Accuracy, 9th in Bogey Avoidance, 9th in Scrambling and 15th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green. Should have a very big tournament.
Longshot Bet
The European Open has been a great event for outsiders and Gumberg looks a great chance to show up at big odds. Gumberg ranks 2nd in Driving Accuracy and 13th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee. He won the SDC Championship earlier in the year so knows how to find the line.
