TPC Craig Ranch hosts the Byron Nelson for the fourth straight year with Jordan Spieth favoured to win in his hometown after finishing second last year.
Best Bet
The deserved favourite and a handy price for someone who has won three majors. Spieth is a Dallas local who ticks every box. Finished second here last year and has the second lowest scoring average on the curse. Ranks 2nd in Putting Average and 8th in Birdie or Better and comes of 6th-placed finishes in Phoenix and Memphis, the two key correlation tourneys. Looks a very nice bet.
Mid-Tier Bet
Noren is an elite short-game and iron player who just needs a good week with the putter to go well. Noren leads the Tour in Scrambling while he ranks 2nd in GIR and 15th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green. Ranks second in the field in strokes gained in tournaments in Texas. This could well be his week.
Value Bet
One of the best iron players on Tour, Hoge has improved his putting enough to really contend week in and week out on Tour. Hoge ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Approach, 2nd in Proximity, 6th in Birdie or Better and 10th in Putting Average. Form has been really good. Right in the mix.
Longshot Bet
Excellent putter who ranks 8th on Tour in Strokes Gained: Putting. Best putting form has come on Bermuda. Finished T-22 in Phoenix this year, one of the key correlation tournaments. Form is poor but this is a tournament he should show up in.
