Joaquin Niemann joins a host of Australian stars and some of the DP World Tour’s finest for Australia’s most prestigious golf tournament.

Joaquin Niemann is a genuine star of world golf and looks primed to defend his Australian Open title won in Sydney last year at the fabulous Kingston Heath. He has enjoyed another strong year with multiple wins on the LIV circuit. When playing DP World Tour events he has been right in the mix including a T-7 at the Tour Championship. With Cam Smith putting poorly, Niemann is the clear value.
Mid-Tier Bet
Rasmus Neergaad-Petersen is the next Danish star to emerge from the overachieving nation. He won three times on the Challenge Tour this year including a second in the Grand Final and has finished Top 18 in his last five DP World Tour starts including an all-important T-4 in the Alfred Dunhill Link, a key guide. His T-8 in the Australian PGA Championship is testament to his talents.
Value Bet
Perez copped the absolute worst of it at Royal Queensland when finishing R1 tied second in horrendous conditions before a poor second round ended his hopes in the worst of it again. He is a three-time DP World Tour winner who won his ticket to the PGA Tour this year. A wonderful iron player who has improved his driver a lot, if he putts well he will be in the mix.
Longshot Bet
Young American on the rise. Turned pro in June after finishing 2nd in the Pac-12 Champs. In 10 starts on the PGA Tour of the Americas, he posted four Top 25 finishes so adapted quickly. Then qualified for the DP World Tour, finishing 8th at Qualifying School. T-43 last week in Royal Queensland. Looks a huge price.
