The DP World Tour stays in South Africa with the incomparable Leopard Creek Country Club hosting the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Best Bet
Louis Oosthuizen is the best player in the field and looks a top chance to defend his crown against a moderate field. He ranks 2nd in Scrambling and 2nd in Putts Per GIR on LIV and has a nice record at Valderama, a key correlation course here.
Mid-Tier Bet
Matti Schmid was outstanding here at his first crack last year when finishing T-4. Has the game to suit Leopard Creek, 3rd in Scrambling and 2nd in Bogey Avoidance. A 2nd at Valderama is the cherry on top.
Value Bet
Wiesberger’s form has dipped a little of late but he has enjoyed a very fruitful season with 12 Top 25 finishes worldwide. He ranks 5th in Bogey Avoidance, 5th in Scrambling, 7th in Strokes Gained: Approach and 12th in GIR. A moral to finish Top 20.
Longshot Bet
Ryggs Johnston entered the Betseeker Hall of Fame two weeks back when winning the Australian Open at $176 as tipped in this column. We will go again on a player who may well be a future star. That win was his second start on the DP World Tour – and comes just seven months after turning pro. He didn’t fire last week but experience on South African tracks will help him here.
