Not the start we expected from Portugal, who were not expected to split the points with DR Congo. History was made when Congo scored their first ever goal on the world stage. Portugal peppered the goal all game but could not get one that counted, with an impressive bicycle kick goal ruled offside.

I don’t think Uzbekistan can get another on the scoreboard, against another top ten nation. They were pretty lucky with the goal that came against Colombia, with an errant deflection falling into an unguarded goal with Abbosbek Fayzvullaev able to walk the goal in off his nose. But sometimes it takes a bit of luck.

They had 39% possession, attempted only two shots on goal, created zero big chances and only won three corners. Statistically its just not the volume required to get another goal. Unless they get lucky again, I think Portugal will be the only scorer in this match.
