Panama haven’t troubled the scorers so far this World Cup and it doesn’t get any easier, now to face England. Unfortunately for them, they will be playing for pride after being eliminated regardless of the result here.

It’s time for Harry Kane to get moving if he wants to stay in the golden boot race. The curse put on him by a Ghana supporting witch doctor has been lifted…if you believe in that sort of thing.

Declan Rice has been drifting forward and has an absolute cannon of a leg. His shot on target against Croatia was an absolute bullet and if the defence give him an inch, he is more than capable from distance. He managed 3 shots against Ghana but was wayward in his attempts.

England should put a lot of field pressure on Panama and both Rice and Kane should benefit. Kane will stand out like a basketball player amongst normal civilians in any English corner sets.

It’s probably one dollar shorter than I would have liked for two goals, but its not just our predictions that have England winning well.

Panama have only let in one goal per game, so defensively that would probably pass their pre-tournament expectations. The 6-2 international friendly against Brazil at the start of June is the blemish on their defensive form.

Panama is playing for pride, which sometimes is enough to bring out a team’s best. Turkiye beat the USA 3-2 recently when they were just playing for the jumper. Other times, the team is already mentally on the plane home, and they can give up a big score. I think Panama are far too proud to let that happen and they go down a gallant 2-0.
