I don’t think Cape Verde can keep up with Argentina. Although their defence has been exemplary and their 40-year-old keeper, Vozinha, is like a brick wall, this opponent is in the best of the best category.

Argentina are the reigning World Cup champions from Qatar; they have a similar squad with more experience this time around and they have not put a foot wrong so far. I have no reason to doubt the champs and ill back them to win this fairly convincingly.

No surprises here, I’ve gone Argentina to lead at half time and eventually win, with Lionel Messi scoring again. It’s hardly revolutionary, but it’s a winning method that we have seen time and time again.

I think Argentina will have to much class for Cape Verde and despite their best efforts they won’t reach the main break without copping at least one goal. Be aware, it’s the shortest odds I’ve seen this tournament for an anytime goalscorer so if you’re after better odds, you could substitute Messi for another striker. There is also the risk of Argentina reducing Messi’s playing time ,if they get a comfortable lead.

All the value is with Cape Verde, but it will take a braver tipster than I. $2.72 for them to get 1+ goal, or $6.00 if you take the double chance for a Cape Verde win or draw.
