LSG lead the all-time series 4-2 across six meetings and won the reverse fixture earlier this season by three wickets. KKR finally broke their duck last game with a win over RR but Pathirana’s return is their only meaningful change. Their powerplay economy remains the worst in the competition and Varun Chakravarthy is still not at his best.

LSG’s bowling is genuinely impressive, with the best powerplay economy in the competition at 7.59 and 14 wickets in that phase. Shami has six powerplay wickets this season and Mohsin Khan is back to full fitness with an economy of 6.58 from three games.

Their batting has been the problem, averaging just 155 in the first innings here this season, but KKR’s bowling outside of Pathirana and Narine is not strong enough to exploit that.

Pathirana has dismissed him three times in four T20 games which is a genuine concern, but KKR’s bowling depth outside of Narine and Pathirana remains thin. On his home ground in a must-win game, he is capable of posting a match-winning score.
