Head to Head
The home side are the bet here.
CSK have one win from four, KKR have none, and the loser is staring down a quick finish to their tournament.
The all-time ledger makes ugly reading for KKR. CSK lead the head to head 20-12 and Chepauk has been a graveyard for the Knight Riders, who have lost 10 matches at the venue, the most by any visiting side in IPL history.
The Super Kings have looked the more settled side since Sanju Samson joined the top order. Sanju smashed the first century of IPL 2026 last time out, and Dewald Brevis slotting into the middle order gives them what looks like their strongest XI of the season.
KKR meanwhile are hamstrung by the unavailability of Varun Chakravarthy and Matheesha Pathirana. Chakravarthy has been training but had his left hand taped on the eve of the match, while Pathirana has only just received his NOC and will not feature.
CSK at home, with the better balance and the better top order, are the right side to back even at the short price.
Best Bet
Sanju is in the form of his life. He carried his T20 World Cup heat straight into the IPL and last time out peeled off the first century of IPL 2026. He now faces a KKR attack missing Chakravarthy and Pathirana, with Navdeep Saini and Kartik Tyagi carrying the new ball instead.
Value Bet
The form player on the park with two fifties in his last three knocks. Since the start of last IPL, Mhatre has struck at 180 in the powerplay while Ruturaj Gaikwad has crawled along at 129. He could go large here again.
