Underdogs have been a great bet in BBL 15 and the trends point to another upset. Each of the last four matches has been won by the outsider, the Heat have won eight of 11 as underdogs and the Thunder have lost 11 of 18 as home favourites.
Confidence will be sky high in the Heat camp following their BBL record run chase against the Scorchers. They will lose Nathan McSweeney to injury for this clash, with Tom Alsop set to make his first BBL 15 appearance after a solid debut campaign for the Heat last season.
The Thunder should be unchanged despite being hammered in the Sydney Smash. They’ve conceded 198 and 180 in their opening two matches, so they desperately need to tighten up with the ball.
Brisbane have won the last four meetings between these teams and 14 of 21 overall. The team batting second has won 11 of 15 at Manuka, so chasing should again provide an advantage.
Neither of these sides looks particularly strong on paper, but there is value in the Heat as outsiders, especially if they are batting second.

Renshaw was brilliant in the Heat’s stunning run chase against the Scorchers, smashing 102. He’s hit 20+ in five of his last six BBL innings and in three of his last four against the Thunder.
Value Bet
This is a huge price for a player who has been the Thunder’s second-highest run scorer in each of their first two matches. It likely requires another top-order collapse to land, but at $13 Khan is well worth a crack. There’s also a chance he’s promoted up the order given his strong early-season form.
