The 4-2 Scorchers look a tough ask for the 2-3 Melbourne Renegades in Perth, especially with the return of some key players.
Head to Head
The Scorchers are always the bet at home, although there is no value at this price if they bat first.
A trip to Optus Stadium remains the hardest road trip in this competition, with the home side winning 31 of 38 matches there. There is some hope for the Renegades if they chase, however, as the Scorchers have lost three of their last four at home when batting first.
As we have touched on previously, results in Renegades matches have mirrored the bat flip. The red team have won their two matches when they have won the toss and chased, while they have lost the three matches where they have been required to set a total.
The Scorchers will be further bolstered by a trio of big inclusions, with Jhye Richardson, Finn Allen and English international David Payne set to play here. Ashton Agar is out with injury, while Caleb Jewell has replaced Harry Dixon in the Renegades squad.
The head-to-head has been dominated by Perth, with a 16-5 overall record. However, the Renegades have won the last two, including the match-up at Optus last season.
The home side will likely be too strong here, but at this price there is probably better value elsewhere.
Best Bet
Joel Paris has been fairly ordinary in recent tournaments but is enjoying a much improved BBL 15, taking 2+ wickets in four straight matches. He has also taken at least one wicket in seven straight games against the Renegades, so he should be right in the contest again.
Value Bet
Brown has looked terrific in his last three innings, with scores of 84, 43 and 26. He should enjoy the pace and bounce at Optus Stadium, where he has scored 29+ in two of his three innings.
