The second BBL Boxing Day clash is a blockbuster between the 1-1 Scorchers and the 2-1 Hurricanes.
Head to Head
Backing the Scorchers at home continues to be a strong betting trend in Big Bash cricket.
The orange team have won 21 of 26 matches at Optus Stadium, including each of their last four against the Hurricanes out west.
Their record is particularly strong when chasing, winning 11 of 12 at Optus. The team batting second has won each of the last four at the venue, making the toss pivotal.
The Scorchers have looked their typically strong selves early in BBL 15, beating the Sixers in a rain-affected opening match before losing no admirers in their insane defeat to the Heat after posting 257.
The Hurricanes haven’t been at their title-winning best through three games, scraping past an ordinary Thunder outfit before losing to the Stars. Their most recent win over the Renegades was a step in the right direction, getting the job done with more than six overs to spare.
Both teams lose some quality experience, with Matthew Wade out for the visitors and Jhye Richardson returning to national duty for the Scorchers.
The last four meetings between these sides have been split 2-2, but the Scorchers still hold a 14-8 head-to-head advantage.
Especially if they are chasing, take the Scorchers at home.
Best Bet
No Big Bash batter has a better recent home record than Connolly at Optus Stadium. The young gun has reached 25+ runs in eight of his last nine innings at the venue, and nine of his last 12 overall.
Value Bet
There isn’t a huge amount of value on offer here, but Marsh’s record at this level is excellent. He’s been named Player of the Match in four of his last 11 BBL appearances.
Same Game Multi
Scorchers H2H (if chasing) / Connolly 20+ Runs / Owen 10+ Runs / Ellis 1+ Wicket
