The Sixers have owned this match-up for years, but they look an ordinary outfit in BBL 15 and the Renegades may be capable of an upset, especially if they chase.

Sydney have won nine straight against the Renegades, however it’s worth noting that only the first match in that streak, back in 2019, was played at Marvel Stadium.

Neither side likes batting first. The Renegades have lost 12 of 13 when batting first, while the Sixers have lost four of their last five from that position. The Renegades have won seven of eight when chasing at Marvel, while the Sixers have won 10 of 14 when batting second. On top of that, the team batting second has won nine of the last 10 matches at this venue.

There’s also a case for an upset based on the schedule to date. The Renegades have had a tough start, facing the defending champion Hurricanes twice along with the fourth-ranked Heat, while the Sixers have enjoyed a more balanced draw against teams currently ranked first, third, sixth and last.

It may pay to wait for the toss and back the team batting second here.

It’s surprising to see Dorff on the fourth line of betting here given he loves playing at Marvel, taking 19 wickets at under 12 from 11 matches at the venue.
