The ’Canes have been dominant at home lately, winning eight straight at Ninja Stadium. They’ve also owned this match-up in Hobart, winning seven straight against the Renegades.
They’ve looked solid through their first four matches at 3-1, but results have closely followed the coin toss, with the chasing side winning all four. The team batting second has won nine of the last 11 Hurricanes matches, 13 of 16 involving the Renegades, and 10 of the last 12 in Hobart. The toss will be all-important again.
The home side will be further boosted by the return of Beau Webster and Matthew Wade, although Tim David will miss with a hamstring injury.
There are no major changes expected for the Renegades, who have shown some promise early after just two games. They won a high-scoring clash with the Heat in Geelong but were outclassed by this opponent at the same venue last time out. Their big-hitting top six will be dangerous when conditions suit.
The Hurricanes are clearly the better side on paper and should win this match. However, with chasing teams holding such a strong edge, backing them at this price if they bat first looks risky.

McDermott loves playing the Renegades, scoring 25+ runs in 11 of his 14 innings against them. His recent form is strong too, with three 25+ scores from four BBL knocks this season, including a 49* last time out against this opponent.
Value Bet
The all-rounder will be itching to get back on the park after a frustrating summer without a national appearance. Webster is a proven performer at this level with both bat and ball, scoring 30+ in his last two home innings and taking four wickets across his last three matches. There could also be a bit of a sympathy vote boost given his summer omissions.
