The 0-1 Heat play their first home game of the season against the 1-0 Perth Scorchers.
Head to Head
The Scorchers are far too short here, especially if they bat first.
The five-time Big Bash champions have been a poor bet on the road lately when favoured, losing four of their last five from that position.
Chasing has again proven to be the best position this season, with four of the five teams batting second winning so far. Dewy conditions late in the night always assist, and they should certainly be present in sticky Brisbane, where the team chasing has won five straight.
Home teams have dominated BBL cricket recently too, winning 10 of the last 12. The home side has also won 10 of the last 12 meetings between these teams.
The Scorchers have owned this match-up lately, winning eight of the last ten, and will be buoyed by the return of Jhye Richardson. The Heat regain quality spinner Matt Kuhnemann.
The team batting second will hold a big advantage here. If that’s the Heat, they look a great play at the price.
Best Bet
The Scorchers young gun has quickly become one of the most consistent players at this level. Connolly has now scored 30+ runs in 11 of his last 14 innings, including four straight on the road.
Value Bet
Matt Renshaw finished last season strongly at home, hitting 40+ in his final two matches at the Gabba. He also looked solid for 18 in the Heat’s opening match against a strong Renegades bowling line-up.
Same Game Multi
Heat Win (if chasing) / Connolly & Renshaw 20+ Runs / Richardson 1+ Wicket
