We’ll get a Big Bash finals preview on Friday night at the SCG when the Sixers host the Thunder in the second Sydney Derby of the season.
Head to Head
The Sixers have dominated the derby for many years and should be too good yet again here.
The magenta team have won the last six against the Thunder, and 18 of 25 overall. They’ve also won the last six derbies at the SCG.
This will be Steve Smith’s final BBL appearance of the season, so expect him to go large again. Elsewhere the Sixers remain a very settled line-up, in sharp contrast to the Thunder, who are still missing much of their first choice batting line-up in Cam Bancroft, Jason Sangha and Daniel Sams.
The Sixers smacked 220 against the Scorchers at the SCG on Sunday and have won 21 of their last 26 at the SCG. They look very hard to beat.
Best Bet
This is a very low line for the ultra-consistent Sixers skipper, who has scored 20+ in three of his last four knocks. He also loves the derby, averaging 43 in 22 matches against the Thunder.
Value Bet
Sadly this will be our last opportunity to back Smithy for a ton before he jets off to Sri Lanka so we best make the most of it. The former Australian captain has scored three tons and three fifties in his last eight BBL knocks. He is the best batter in the Big Bash by some distance and will benefit from a flat deck and small boundaries at the SCG.
