The unbeaten Sixers meet the 1-2 Heat at the Gabba in a rematch of last season’s BBL Final.
Head to Head
This is a really tight match-up but the numbers support the Heat as home underdogs.
The defending champions have won seven straight at the Gabba and four of their last five as underdogs. The outsiders have dominated this match-up, in fact, with 11 of 13 emerging victorious.
The home side are nearly back to full strength, only missing Michael Neser from their best side, while the settled Sixers should be at full strength, save for Sean Abbott who is on national duty.
The visitors are unbeaten through in BBL 14 but all three games have been close, including a final ball victory over the Thunder. They’ve also won all three coin tosses and chased, which has been a big advantage this season. They’re due a change in luck there.
These are arguably the two best teams in the competition, and there really isn’t much between them, but give the edge to the home team here.
Best Bet
We’ve gone left field here, but a Heat batter has top scored in the match in their last six games at the Gabba. They tend to have a standout batter who racks up a monster score, with their batters already posting two of the top four scores this season after having the two highest last season, while the Sixers often have a more even contribution across the board.
Value Bet
Spencer Johnson’s recent record in BBL cricket is impossible to ignore. He’s taken a pole in 10 straight games, 2+ in five straight at the Gabba and 4+ in each of his last two, including in last season’s BBL Final against the Sixers. Great bet.
