BBL 14 Tips – Melbourne Stars v Sydney Sixers

It’s last against first on Thursday night at the MCG when the Melbourne Stars host the Sydney Sixers.

Head to Head

Sydney Sixers
Head to Head

The Stars have slightly redeemed what looked like another miserable season with two straight wins but beating on the ladder leaders looks a bridge too far for the perennial battlers.

The Sixers are again a benchmark team in BBL 14, going 4-1 with one no result through six games. They also hold a ridiculous record over their opponents, winning 11 of the last 12 clashes including five straight at the ‘G.

They will be further buoyed by the return of strike bowler Sean Abbott, while fifth Test hero Beau Webster is back for the Stars.

The only wrinkle is the continued dominance of teams chasing in BBL 14, with teams batting second now winning 19 of 24 matches.

If the Sixers chase then this is a chips in job, but the Stars batters have found form lately so give the head-to-head a miss if they chase.

Best Bet

James Vince
Over 20.5 Runs

This is a favorable line for the Englishman, who boasts an impressive record against the Stars, scoring 25+ in seven of his last eight matches and 50+ in his last four. Look at higher run tallies, hi bat and player of the match markets (especially if the Sixers are chasing) as well.

Value Bet

Ben Duckett
50+ Runs

Duckett has been in white hot form this season, bashing fifties in three of his last four knocks, including a 68 from just 29 balls against the Sixers on Boxing Day.

Same Game Multi

Sixers H2H / Vince 20+ Runs / Abbott & Dwarshuis 1+ Wickets
