Both the Stars and Renegades need a win to maintain pace with the top four in the first Melbourne derby of BBL 14.
Head to Head
The Stars cannot be backed, especially as favourites.
They may have finally broken through for a win against the Heat, their first following an eight-game losing run, but they remain an unconvincing outfit. They’ve also lost five of the last seven derbies.
The Renegades have lost their last two but have looked a far better side so far this season, especially with the rock. They have only conceded one of the top 20 highest totals in BBL 14 while the Stars have given up two of the top seven.
With the Stars losing their last six as favourites, back the ‘Gades to take Victorian bragging rights.
Best Bet
The former Heat slugger has looked terrific for the Renegades, scoring 20+ in three of five knocks and reaching double figures in each game. As mentioned, this isn’t a good Stars bowling attack so Brown will have an opportunity to capitalise.
Value Bet
Duckett has top-scored for his side in two of his last three matches, with scores of 67 and 68 against the Sixers and Thunder respectively.
