BBL 14 Tips – Melbourne Stars v Brisbane Heat

Colin Munro - BBL Tips

The Stars will be looking to bounce back from their loss to the Scorchers when they host the undermanned Heat on Wednesday night at the MCG.

Head to Head

The Stars have been rightly backed into favouritism given Brisbane’s player availability issues.

The defending champions will have a shell of best team for this game, with Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney on national duty, Spencer Johnson and Michael Neser injured, and Colin Munro in serious doubt with a hamstring complaint. The Heat could have up to four debutants for this game.

The Stars will be without Glenn Maxwell and Hilton Cartwright, but the perennial battlers showed plenty in a tough first up assignment in Perth.

With a match under their belt, the Stars look the play here, especially if they chase, as the team batting second has won nine of the last ten of their matches.

Best Best

Tom Rogers
Over 16.5 Runs

This is a tricky game to assess with so much change in each line-up but Tom Rogers looks the strongest play, having scored 20+ runs in 11 of his last 16 knocks and two of his last three against the Heat.

Value Bet

Xavier Bartlett
Most Wickets (Heat)

This is a thin field with Johnson and Neser missing so Bartlett looks a good bet. He’s taken a pole in 12 straight BBL games.

Same Game Multi

Strikers H2H / Rogers 20+ Runs / Renshaw 10+ Runs / Bartlett 1+ Wicket
