BBL 14 Tips – Melbourne Renegades v Perth Scorchers

There should be fireworks at Marvel Stadium on Monday night when the 1-1 Renegades host the 1-1 Scorchers.

Head to Head

The toss will once again be crucial as chasing teams continue to dominate in BBL 14.

So far, through nine games, teams batting second have won eight times, with the Melbourne Stars being the only exception after losing to the Strikers when batting first.

The Renegades will be desperate to avoid batting first, having lost their last seven games in that scenario. Meanwhile, the Scorchers are slightly more comfortable in this position, boasting five straight wins when batting first at Marvel. However, the Renegades are a much-improved side this season.

The visitors will be without Jhye Richardson, who is a significant loss, and Aaron Hardie remains sidelined. The home side is at full strength.

We’re big on the Renegades’ prospects in BBL 14 and this could easily be a finals match-up come the end of the season. The stats around the toss are impossible to ignore, however, so back the team that gets to chase.

Best Bets

Josh Inglis
Over 22.5 Runs

Inglis continued his great run of form in his first BBL 14 appearance, making a team high 49 runs against the Hurricanes in Hobart. He’s scored 25+ runs in four straight BBL innings on the road.

Tim Seifort
Over 21.5 Runs

It will be a turbulent ride backing Fraser-McGurk but the young gun has a sensational record at Marvel, scoring 25+ runs in four of his last five knocks at the venue, including two 50s. He should relish the pace of Behrendorff and Morris in the first few overs too.

Value Bet

Josh Inglis
Player of the Match
Jake Fraser-McGurk

Wait for the toss and back either Inglis or Fraser-McGurk for player of the match if their team is chasing.
