Both the Renegades and the Heat must win on Saturday night at Marvel Stadium to be any hope of playing finals.
Head to Head
There isn’t much going for either of these teams so we’ll wait for the coin toss in this one.
The chasing team have won 22 of 33 games this season and the Renegades have lost their last 11 games when batting first.
The home side have been major disappointments this season. After recruiting a hugely talented and powerful top six, Cameron White’s team are dead last on the table with Tim Seifort their only top 15 ranked batter (in 15th).
The Heat have been the more impressive team in BBL 14 but playing stocks have been hit hard for this game. Both Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja’s one-game cameos have ended and Matthew Kuhnemann is likely out with a thumb injury. They may regain captain Colin Munro, however.
Despite their putrid historical record in the BBL, the Heat are one team the Renegades have the wood on, winning 13 of 21 overall, but there’s no confidence in them at this point of the season.
Backing the chasing team looks the safest bet.
Best Bet
Here’s a bet to be confident in. Matt Renshaw loves playing the Renegades, scoring 25+ runs in six straight matches against them, as well as his last three overall. He’s worth a bet for player of the match too, especially if the Heat chase.
Value Bet
Rogers has been the shining light for the Renegades in BBL 14, topping the most wickets tally this season and leading his nearest teammate by six wickets. He’s also led his team for wickets in five of his last eight matches.
Same Game Multi
Renshaw 20+ Runs / Seifort 10+ Runs / Rogers & Johnson 1+ Wickets
